In this article, the author Yanni A. Loukissa brought up an very interesting argument, "the reason why architects have difficulty learning CATIA is because this software requires a "level of rigor that architects are not used to." This kind of resistance exists every time people contact new things. Even though they do not admit it orally, that resistance can be hidden in their deep heart.
We are now in an age that the computer-aided design tools are becoming more and more complex. CATIA do have brought us more creativity to the design process. Some of which are even beyond the dream of the old architects. I a word, we can not make the difficulties of controlling this software as an excuse not to accept it. The future of CATIA is very promising, it has the power to revolutionize the design process by creating more and more complex geometries.
Yanni also described the situation when Quix acted as the tutor of CATIA in PAUL MORRIS ASSOCIATES. I do not really agree with their idea of bringing this software until late in the process. The most powerful of CATIA is its design capacity. By scripting, assembleing, creating powercopies, etc, many different opportunities are offered. Some people claims that it is hard to revise CATIA files after once they are done. This is definitely untrue, by only changing the powercopies, udfs, parts the whole design can be revised easily.
